The first of 2 August Competitions. Aside from the Club Championships held in Septemeber this is our second most prestigious event which is played in fond memory of one of our former members and Club Captain Duncan King. Duncan was a special and fine man and a great golfer too – taken far too young and a sad loss to all that knew him. 18 members turned up for the competition – a Singles Strokeplay event off full handicap. It was a closely fought contest with 10 players scoring Net par or under. Congratulations to the eventual winner Brennan Miles with a Net 49 (66-17) – handicap cut on its way Bren !! 2nd place on countback was Ian Mackin with a net 50 (56-6) and lowest gross score of the day. 3rd place was Mike England also with a net 50 (61-11.) Nearest the pin winners this time round Phil Jarrett and Mike England winning some much needed new golf balls !!
