Kingfisher Cup 2021

One week after the delayed May event competition was back on again down at The Meadow. The course had further improved from the bad weather in May and a fine sunny/cloudy morning meant conditions were set fair. This Sunday 6th June was another singles competition – this time in stableford format. 17 players turned out and enjoyed pre match coffee and bacon rolls beautifully made and presented by Sue – very much appreciated by us all.Our winner for June was Phil Watts with 39 points – improving on his 3rd place the previous week in the May Competition. In second place was Richard Burgin (our May winner) with 36 points with Ian Mackin 3rd with 34 points.

The highlight of the morning, apart from the Top 3 players on the day of course, was a Hole In One on the 5th hole by the inimitable and brightly dressed Ian Mackin – well done Ian. Unbelievably nobody could get nearer the pin on that one !! Richard Burgin took the nearest the other nearest the pin prize on Hole 2. Unusually, 3 players took the top 3 spots AND the 2 nearest the pin prizes – well done fellas
