Greg Saunders’ tenure as Club Captain came to an end in April 2023 – we had nobody who was prepared to succeed Greg in 2024 so he kindly offered to continue for one more year to April 2024. Guess what its now February 2025 and Greg still remains our Captain – for an unprecedented 3rd term !!!. THANKYOU GREG.
We MUST though be looking to the future and to some of our newer members to become more active in the running and organisation of TMGC – we are a volunteer run club and there is a lot to do during the year, the Club does not run itself. During 2025 we will be looking for volunteers to take on more responsibility for running competitions and organising our friendly matches and the teams to play these games.
In the meantime Greg, Bryan Holden and Mike England have agreed to share responsibilities but Greg will remain ‘Captain’ in name. Rich Burgin, Neil Clarke and Fred Stace are also up to speed and have been a great help during 2024 in organising competitions in our absence – great job fellas !!
If any member is interested in getting more involved then please do speak with either Greg, Bryan or Mike anytime or simply e-mail the Committee at [email protected]. It would be great to see the load shared and some of our newer members and regular competition golfers get more actively involved in the running of our Club. Anybody interested will get the full support and guidance from existing post holders and the Committee so please do come and have a go.
