Our last competition of 2021. The town Meadow Trophy Singles Stableford currently held by 2020 winner Bryan Holden. This is never really one to look forward to because the weather is normally cold and wet and the course similarly wet and often tricky conditions. Well guess what it was cold and it was windy but dry – the course though was in great condition for this time of year. 13 players turned out to brave the elements warmed up by pre-match teas, coffees and bacon rolls. Nice one Sue – much needed.Afetr forgetting the nearest the pin prizes in November we were back to the usual 2 – Hole 1 and Hole 5. Surprisingly afetr 26 attempts nobody hit the 5th green at all (our shortest hole). Tony Whiting won it on the 1st hole though putting his tee shot to within 2 feet. The main competition saw a new name on the Trophy – Greg Saunders with a great round, scoring 39 points (playing off 14) beat Bren Miles into second place on count back 37 points (off 15) from Richard Burgin also 37 points (off 26) in third place.  Look forward to seeing everybody back for our first comp. of 2022 on Sunday 9th January for The Presidents Cup a singles strokeplay event.
