Squirell Cup 2020

After the atrocious weather of the previous weekend this competition was pushed back a week. We were blessed with fabulous weather and the course in great condition. A great turnout too – 20 members came along and enjoyed coffee and bacon rolls before the match – thanks to Bryan Holden, and the 2 Garys Whiteside and Beecham for their organisation and culinary expertise.

The scoring indicated that the 2 club selection may have been a of a problem for many of us – sure we will be making some changes next year !! Well done though to the very few that broke 60 strokes Net.

Congratulations go to our winners on the day – Competition Winner Phil Watts (net 52) and his first TMGC competition win beating 2nd place Tom Dearden (net 55). Nearest the Pin – Dermot Newe, actually the only person all morning to hit the 3rd green !!! And finally a special mention to Richard Burgin who got married on Friday 9th October – no mean feat in Covid times. He was delighted with his wedding gift – a sleeve of TMGC golf balls to replace the 3 he lost during his round

Full results to follow on this page. Hopefully see you all for next months competition on Sunday November 8th – the team Texas Scramble.
