Squirrel Cup – 2 Clubs/Putter – Oct 22

A miserable morning of rain and grey skies greeted us down at the Meadow. 15 “die-hards” turned up to at least have the coffee and bacon rolls – Sue made the effort to get out of bed so good to see plenty turn up albeit not expecting us to go out in the pouring rain. A straw poll resulted in a ‘lets go for it decision – 13 went for it and Mike and Dermot bottled it (lightweights !!) not believing that the weather would get any better.

The strokeplay competition went ahead – everyone was suitably clothed BUT did they select the right clubs !!??. The full result list will follow but our winner, his second success in consecutive events, was young Edward Marsh with with the only net under par round of 53 – well done Edward, no mean feat in the conditions. Our nearest the pin winners this month were Phil Jarrett on Hole 2 and guess what, Edward won the nearest the pin on the 5th too. A good mornings work young man – Dad was well proud I’m sure. Oh and by the way the rain did stop and the sun did come out.
