Town Meadow Trophy 2021

Some atrocious May weather and a waterlogged Town Meadow meant the May Competition had to be postponed twice. The sun came out, the course dried out and we eventually managed to squeeze it in on May 30th. A singles strokeplay event off full handicap meant the lowest NET score on the day would take the trophy. A field of 15 players were up for the challenge after enjoying a couple of bacon rolls and coffees before tee off.

Huge thanks to Sue Peart our new in-house Chef – it’s great to have Sue on board, really takes the pressure off the organisation of our competitions and without doubt brings some long overdue culinary expertise and glamour to our kitchen !!

The eventual winner was Richard Burgin (playing off a 28 handicap) with a net score of 50 – 4 under par. Congratulations to Richard on his first competition win. Sam Davis was second – looking for back to back victories was only one shot back with a net 51 – 3 under par and 3rd place went to Phil Watts who carded a net 57 – 3 over par. Lowest gross score of the day was Mike England 71 shots – shame he couldnt play to his handicap though 🙂

Nearest the pin prizes went to Tony Whiting and Bryan Holden.
