Squirrel Cup 2021

The decision making event of the year – which clubs do I take is the big question. Will the fairways roll or will I have to hit it exactly where the ball needs to go !!?? Once that decision is made this Competition is easy and most score really well as no more difficult decisions are needed – long club, short club or putter. Some get it right some don’t. It was a shame only 13 members turned out for this one but nonetheless the competition was fierce and lowest net score would take the trophy. Playing off a handicap of 26 Richard Burgin finally came out on top with a net 48 (6, yes 6 !! under par) and was a worthy winner beating Mike England net 53 (playing off 11) into second place and Dermot Newe net 55 (off 17) into 3rd place.

There was only one nearest the pin prize this month on the 1st hole (Bryan Holden has enough balls already 😉 and this was won by Tony Whiting.

Richard Burgin also won £10 on the footbal card so not a bad mornings work for him and in future he has decided to play all competition with only 2 clubs.

Thanks again to Sue Peart for getting up and making the usual coffee and bacon rolls, as ever much appreciated – for the rest of the field perhaps their best part of the day ?
