Played in fond memory of former member, TMGC captain and all round top bloke Duncan King.
13 members (1 without official handicap yet) turned up for this years DK Trophy – a singles stroke-play competition qualifying for handicap adjustments.
A great Sunday morning of sunshine and good course conditions boded well for some great golf to be played. Duncan would have revelled in today’s conditions and of course had his fair share of coffee and bacon rolls – thanks as usual Sue.
The scores were indeed good with the top 5 players all coming in with net scores of par or better and 3 players scoring 2’s on a hole – well done Bryan, Andy and Jake.
Our Top 3 were as follows – 3rd with 53 and the lowest gross score of the day was Andy Thomas (11 HC). In second place was young Henry Dearden (22 HC) with a net 51 and this months deserved winner was Jake Carvell (HC19) with a 4 under par net 50. Huge congratulations to Jake on his win – quite fitting, this is Jakes last comp at TM as he now moves out of the area to a new home and job ‘up country’. All at TMGC wish you well Jake and thankyou for your support at Club Comps during your membership.
Our nearest the pin winners were Richie B (Hole 2) and Neil (Hole 9 – no mean feat !!) – Neil also ran off with the £20 raffle prize. Well done Neil just reward and thanks for all your organisation of todays comp.
Some pics and full results below. Next month is the big one – TMGC Club Championships – who will be crowned Champion Golfer of the Year. You gotta be in it to win so make sure you are there by 9.00am Sunday 7th September.
