Ken Hogan Trophy – February 2022

Sunday February 6th. Torrential overnight and morning rain combined with a strong wind probably meant alot of ‘the usuals’ opted for a Sunday lie in – don’t blame ’em at all. Thanks though to the 11 ‘diehards’ and Sue the chef who did make their way down to The Meadow for our competition. A drawn pairs event where the highest combined stableford score would win the trophy currently held by Richard Burgin and Bryan Holden. We only had 5 pairs competing so everyone was in ‘with a shout’. Scoring proved very difficult with no combined pair scoring 72 points – infact only 2 individuals (Neil Clarke and Kevin McKenzie) scored better than net par on the day.

The winning pair on the day were Kevin McKenzie and Bren Miles (not Greg !! see picture below LOL) with 69 points beating Neil Clarke and Mike England 66 points into 2nd place with Greg Saunders and Dave Standivan 3rd on 62 points.

Richard Burgin, who has been a regular winner this season, didn’t let himself down by winning nearest the pin on Hole 5 AND taking the £10 on the footy card !! Bryan Holden added to his new ball stash by winning nearest the pin on Hole 2 – Bryans getting good at this NTP thing !
